Two more days till my summer vacation can begin. After juggling four jobs nonstop for 5+ years, I’m ready for a reprieve – no matter how short or low-key.
This photo sums up my current state of affairs (and state of mind) rather well.
What story can you put with this? You’ve got 150 words. You’ve got one week. (Multiple entries accepted, BTW!) InLinkz widget below! (Or the comments, if you don’t have a blog.)
New to the VisDare? Check out the Visual Dare tab above.
Otherwise….here you go! Happy writing!!

The most important…the only important thing, was that she wasn’t seen. Her panicked breathing and the pounding of her heart, drowned out the general hubbub of the shopping centre.
She almost fell, as a tutting woman pushed past and she realised she’d reached the bottom of the escalator.
She had not seen HIM since the day before the ‘wedding’.
“Of course I’ll turn up, you daft thing” he’d said.
He hadn’t.
That was almost two years ago and she hadn’t seen him since. Until today.
She took a deep breath to steady her nerves and picked up her two cases and the purchases she’d made that day.
With everything arranged perfectly to obscure her face, she felt confident now that she could safely leave.
Then…wonderful relief, as she reached the exit.
She smiled.
She felt sure she hadn’t been seen. And it could be hours before they found his body.

Superb. I love it, I love the build and I love the pacing and the reveal made me laugh out loud.

The problem is nobody wants to be the one to pay for what is necessary and our elected officials don’t want to be the ones to stick their neck out and do wha2t#8&17;s right so everybody, voters included, keeps passing the buck.
